 MHC Incentive Program

The Maternal Health Clinic provides maternity care to women of the Wabash Valley on a sliding fee scale basis.  The multidisciplinary team includes nurses, physician assistant, nurse midwives, social worker, care coordinator, substance abuse counselor, nutritionist, family medicine resident physicians, and family medicine and obstetric faculty.  Quality care is provided through direct patient assessment, counseling, and teaching.

As an incentive to foster healthy behaviors, we have developed a program in which our patients can earn points when those behaviors are noted.  With these points they will be awarded items from The Helping Hands, a nonprofit organization designed to provide quality clothing and household items to people in West Terre Haute and the surrounding communities.

Our request to the community is two-fold.  We ask that you remember The Helping Hands organization when you have gently used items that you would like to donate to a charitable group.  They are located at 960 West National Avenue, West Terre Haute, IN (next to the IGA).  There is a possibility that we could help transport items to their location.  Please call the Maternal Health Clinic at 812-238-7301.

Also, we would like to include new items for our patients when specific healthy behaviors are demonstrated.  We are asking for monetary donations directly to the Maternal Health Clinic for items such as cribs, car seats, or diapers.  A program that provided families with cribs through the State of Indiana has just recently lost its funding. With a donation of $200, a crib, mattress, and car seat could be purchased for a family in need.  Their good works would be rewarded by your gift.  Any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Please open your hearts to these families by contributing to their futures.  Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
