Programs
for Women With Breast Cancer
Are you or someone you love faced with
a breast cancer diagnosis? The Maple Center is proud to
announce innovative, integrative programs to empower and
equip women facing breast cancer. The Wabash Affiliate
of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has
provided grant funding to The Maple Center in
collaboration to provide these
helpful services AT NO CHARGE to women of the Wabash
Valley.
“Stress Management Intervention for Women with Breast
Cancer: Enhancing Quality of Life During and After
Treatment”
will be an 8-week workshop
series based on Dr. Michael Antoni’s research-based
protocol. Jan Croft, MS, LPT will be facilitating this
program.

“Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors: Stretching,
Strengthening and Relaxation”
will be a 6-week workshop series featuring
yoga and relaxation teachings focused on aiding breast
cancer
patients and survivors to achieve improved quality of
life,
physical strength, and inner peace. Jan Croft, MS, LPT,
will lead
these 1-1/2 hour sessions.

Tai Chi for Breast Cancer
will be a 8 week workshop meeting 3 times weekly,
featuring the techniques of
Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health specifically designed
to work well for
those with arthritis, or diabetes, or cancer (as well as
those without)
Tai Chi has been effective in reducing pain, improving
flexibility, strength, and balance.
A focus on breathing and inner calm also can help lower
blood pressure and anxiety, and
help to decrease the side effects from chemo-therapy
